Expert Witness & Arbitration

Independent expertise where security, technology and consequence meet.

Independent technical and operational expertise for high-value disputes, arbitration, claims and litigation involving security incidents, aerial threats, protective measures and organisational preparedness.

Independent specialist support

Technical depth. Clear opinion. Evidence that stands up to scrutiny.

Standwell provides independent technical and operational expertise in support of complex disputes, arbitration and litigation. Our experience includes instructions involving international professional services and legal firms, with particular expertise in aerial threats, fixed-site C-UAS, protective measures and operational preparedness. We support legal teams through evidence review, technical analysis and clear, defensible expert opinion, with each instruction assessed against the expertise required.

Our role is independent. The objective is not to advocate for a predetermined position, but to understand the evidence, test assumptions and provide technically grounded opinion within the limits of our expertise.

Three areas of depth

Process expertise and subject-matter expertise, kept distinct.

A strong expert instruction requires more than technical knowledge. It requires disciplined evidence review, clear reasoning, an understanding of the expert's role and the ability to explain complex operational issues without overstating what the evidence can support.

Protective security

Martyn's Law is about preparedness and proportionate protection.

Standwell treats Martyn's Law within its proper protective-security context. The legislation is not a C-UAS requirement and should not be used as a route to sell technology. Its significance lies in preparedness, appropriate procedures and, for enhanced-duty premises and events, reasonably practicable measures to reduce vulnerability and harm.

Where an instruction touches protective security, organisational readiness or the adequacy of measures, we can examine the operational context alongside the relevant threat and the measures that were, or could reasonably have been, available. The aerial-threat specialism adds depth where the facts require it. It does not distort the wider protective-security question.

Scope of instruction

What an instruction can involve.

Evidence and document review Chronology development Incident and technical analysis Threat and vulnerability assessment Assessment of protective measures Expert reports and technical memoranda Responses to questions from counsel Review of opposing expert material Joint or expert-conference support Evidence in proceedings where appropriate

Independence

Independent by design.

Standwell's value is independent judgement. We are not tied to a technology vendor or product sale, allowing protective measures and C-UAS capability to be considered against the actual threat, operating environment, consequence and evidence.

Instructions are handled with appropriate discretion and confidentiality. Potential conflicts can be considered at the outset before substantive material is shared.

Standwell provides independent technical and operational expertise. We do not provide legal advice or legal representation.
